This is another special post from Amy Greenleaf Brassert and Ruth Tamari the creators of The Smart Art of Friendship.

It is no secret that this has been a long, cold, snowy winter making it challenging for many of us to get out the door. Our personal focus may have been inward and towards cocooning. The arrival of spring re-energizes us again for reconnection, renewal and new growth in our friendships and ourselves.

Spring forward is one of the signs that, along with longer days, warmer weather is on the way. As we thaw out, renewing and refreshing our friendships can feel exciting, even overwhelming, particularly if we were the one who let the proverbial *ball drop*. Where do we start?

Circumstances, yours or theirs, can lead to losing touch with friends. Sometimes all it takes is a call or an email saying:  “You’ve been on my mind. How are you? I am sorry I’ve been out of touch.” Or, “I’ve missed you and I would love to connect and catch up”.

Extending an invitation to meet for a meal on a patio or go to an event together can reconnect us with our friends. There are many ways to reconnect, renew and rejuvenate our friendships. How will you chose to *spring forward*?

  • What can you do to refresh your friendships?
  • What springtime activities bring you together with your friends?
  • Are there any renewal activities you could share with your friends?
